The Art of Visa Acquisition

Yesterday was a fun day for me. It was like party after party after party. Well, that is... if you consider horribly long periods of sitting and being bored out of your mind maybe sleeping a bit, partying. If so, then I freakin rocked it out harder than I've ever rocked out before. Well, actually I just went through the process of obtaining my work visa for over here. Now, when I get my visa usually, I have to go to the foreign police in the city of Melnik, which is about an hour away by bus. So this is the first part of suck. Next big note is that I have always gone with someone who speaks better Czech than i do. So this was kinda my first experience at a real official formal state-type office with no one to help me but myself, so that was kinda cool, yet kinda scary, but i was happy to try.

We got to Melnik and walked up the hill to the city and went to the foreign police office. There were lots of shady Ukranians and Russians already there, so that kinda sucked cuz i was like 9th or 10th in line. (Some times theres no like and we just walk in and walk out in 5 minutes which rocks the house). And then it was finally my turn, after an hour and a half!! (I've never had to wait so long before) But wait, some stupid horrible Ukranian couple walked right past me. That kinda made me mad, but oh well, I was next and it was go time. I walked in and told the dude that I'd like to pick up my visa. He got it and made me sign some papers, and here's the kicker... He says, "Hey, you see this place for a stamp here? Yea, you're gonna need a stamp there. Fiddy bones worth. I said "Fiddy bones worth o stamps"? So anyway, I had to go buy the fiddy bone stamp and give him it and then i could get my visa.

So anyways, I got my visa and wouldn't you know it, even though i gave them new visa photos and all, they still have the same photo i had, so i have three visas with the same photo of me with long hair and a beard, so that's nice i guess. Anyways, not a big deal.

A Bit of Yellowness in Your Life

This is the newest addition to my flat. It's not much, but i think it really makes the flat look about a million times cooler. Yea... that's right, I did it also. Don't worry, I gave myself a good deal on it. Now yellow isn't my favorite color, but it's somebody's favorite color, and who am i to knock on someone else's favorite color? Thus is life. Well, that's all i got to say about that. Til next time, I bid you adieu.

Luck of the Numbers

Wow, so as a repeat of last year this time. I am once again waiting here in the munich airport and can you believe it, i'm almost back... almost.

Have you ever hear the phrase "tired out of your mind:? I don't know, maybe you have, but that seems to be the best phrase to use right now even if i ddi make it up. I started today out of tulsa of course and i was planning on taking at 1030 am flight to chicago. Rumor had it that there were some sick nasty storms there. Like really freakin sick nasty, so my flight was delayed and therefore i missed my flight from chi-town to munich (my first scheduled transatlantic flight of the day). So my flight was delayed about 2 hours.... as time went by, they continued to delay this flight... so much actually that i missed my next flight out of chi-town, my 1st rescheduled flight this one being to frankfurt . so, i also missed this one (2nd missed transatlantic flight of the day). I chatted it up with the desk dude for a bit and he rerouted me to denver (yea, that's the opposite direction) in hopes of getting on a flight out of there. (i was scheduled to arrive at prague at 8 am monday morning, and this flight (my 2nd rescheduled transatlantic flight of the day and my 3rd overall was to get i Prague at 5pm on monday. with a 5 hour layover in denver.

Now, i love the wonderful airport in Denver as much as the next guy, but dernit, I wasn't really looking forward to it. So I got to Denver no problem and started walking around. I wanted to see if there was another option for me there to get over here earlier a bit more. So I walked around and saw, to my bewildered eyes, a flight that left 3 hours earlier than my frankfurt flight that flew to Munich (my original destination mind you). Yes, this would be my 3rd rescheduled transatlantic flight and 4th overall). I went and asked the lady if this would be a possibility and she said, "Ok, pick a number between 1 and 354." So i immediately, without hesitation blurted out, quite loudly mind you, 159." She was absolutely stupified because that's the exact number that she was thinking of. So I was able to get on the flight. The flight was 10 hours and a big ball of suck. And now I am in Munich with my lucky number 159 (it's never failed me to this day), waiting for my flight. And can you believe it that I only missed my original flight to Prague by like half an hour. That's pretty awesome actually, considering the ordeal they put me through. So... i'm gonna get home only about 4 hours later than i had originally planned at the beginning of the day on sunday. So... that's cool, and no problem, except that I slept about 5 minutes on my 10 hour flight and now I am tired out of my mind. That's really all i got to say about that right now. I hope your flights turn out to be more relaxing.

ps.Oh yea, and when i got to munich, i definitely gave the lady at the information desk the "You too" phrase when she wished me a good flight. I'm tired. I'm gonna take a small nap now. And I hope i wake up before my plane boards. Bye

ok, made it home safe. thanks

Varying Degrees of "El Juventud"

In the life of a comic, things tend to be a little hazed and maranged, but that's a part of life i'm not familiar with. At the time being, I'm in Los Angeles and, but tomorrow the winds shall carry me home for my last little hoorah in the states. Things in LA have been quite of the interest, or might I say... a good time...? It's been relaxing and the weather has been the best in the 3 summers I've been out here. So that's been pretty freaking sweet. Other than that, life has been busy I guess. Meeting new people that I've been training the last few days who shall be joining the family over in Central Europe for next year. They all seem like a bunch of crackas to me, but then again, they're pretty fun to be around and it's good that they be crackas. In a week or so, I will be landin with you from my homebase back in the countryside of Kralupy. it'll be relaxing time where I can probably just try and get back into normal day life and the routine of awesomeness that floods around me. So wait for it and the fun shall continue.

I'm not really that excited about joining in on the heat that is back in the center of the states, but i'm willin to bear back in with it for another 3 days to be with my family and enjoy the joys of being home in the land of the red man for a few more days.

Can't really think of any funny stories in the last few weeks. Nothing too crazy has happened. Plane rides have been mediocre at best and yea... The first days at training were fun cuz I was able to meet up with some friends that won't be returning, namely Stephen who'd been there with me from the beginning and with whom many of my crazy trip stories included, being Cyprus, Slovenia, breweries around Czech, and Greece. And just imagine of the times when we didn't even go anywhere... talk about crazy. Anyways, it's too bad, but life moves on and I'll keep being a rockstar...

To Those of a Concerned Status

With being back in the states comes a lot of time of reflection. And as of recently, I've had a lot of this time. One main reason is the fact that I've had to clean out my room of everything of importance because the house that i grew up in is about to be no more. But I've had a chance to look at old pictures (not enough though. I can't wait to go and look through more of them), a chance to look through old card collections ( I used to be a big card collector. I've probably got about a million kajillion dollards worth of cards at home), and just a whole lot of other stuff that is rather old.

The last few weeks have been a bit fun, but interesting in that fact also. You see, it seems that my time here has been quite relaxing, but my time is always filled up with doing something, so i guess in that instance, things are quite busy for me, but I'm actually kinda happy about that. It's nice to be busy doing stuff but still have to feeling of being in a relaxed state and to know that I'm on vacation. Hm... boring life from me, I know. There's really nothing interesting going on now. I'm going to a Counting Crows concert next week, so that'll be cool. And also I'm going to LA. So, more busy things to come. See ya later
