The Beauties of Life in Czech Switzerland

Well... if you've never heard of it, check it out. It's got a beautiful natureside and picturesque foresty hills. It's cool. So... let me tell you my story real quick. I went there last week with 7 students and one teacher for 3 days. First of all, we were gonna stay in cabins, but we got there and the cabins were closed even though we made reservations. But never fret, they let us stay in this dorm-like place which cost per person about 3 and a half bucks a night. pretty impressive if i do say so myself. So... but there was a catch. Apparently, they had decided to sit this dorm structure right on top of a big sewage base, therefore making everything smell wretched. You'd think we'd leave our dirty noisy city to come to the forest for some silence and good smells of nature. No no no, it sucked. And therefore, what do you think we would do the entire time? Hm... I think that we're in the nature so we'd go walking around and explore and whatnot... no again. We spent most of our time in the stupid smelly place and it was a bit absurd the whole situation. All in all, what we did see of the place was quite beautiful. It was enjoyable to just walk around and see some clean trees every here and there. But for the most part I was just away from my home stuck in this craphole, left to do Sudoku (which I just started on the trip. I picked a good time to pick up this hobby). Anyways... :) I think that the rest of my journeys this summer will prove to be much more enjoyable and more exciting. I'm going to visit the Karlovy VarY International Film Festival this weekend and so I'm quite looking forward to the adventure and the happiness that will be involved in this excursion :) I'll tell you all about it soon. I hope I find time to write about it before my entourage of trips following one after another ending in the states. talk to you soon.

Filler Entry

So... after a long discussion about who's the best American teacher in Kralupy from Oklahoma and after much debate, I finally decided that it was me. The vote was unanimous (1-0). I'm just soakin in the victory now, relishing every moment of victory i have.

Really not a lot has been going on as of recently. It's quite sad the school year is ending, but i'm glad i don't have to worry about saying bye to anyone right now, cuz i'm quite looking forward to teaching again next year. It will be a fun time that I really can't wait for.

And remember... yeaaaa....

The Life of The Kralupan Dog

Benji is maybe one of the most well known dogs in Kralupy... Why, per se, might i say this? Cuz it just has to be the truth. As we walk around the town each day, everyone stops and gawks at the amazement this is Benji. And if they don't get their chance to see him on our routinely walks around the town, the surely they see him in one of his favorte spots in the house... How can they see him in our house you might think. Do we have transparent walls or something? This must be quite perplexing for youself, but wait wait wait, let me explain. Benji wasn't raised to be an indoor dog. He was raised innately to see greater things... to see green fields... to see the blue skies as the clouds soared by overhead.... to experience the triumph of a bittersweet dinner kill. Therefore, Benji enjoys the only spot where he can at least imagine doing one of many of these things... the window sill. When he's not sleeping in luxury, he's standing, sitting, or lying down here experiencing the great wilderness... someplace he hopes to experience one day when he breaks through the confines of the chains that are holiding him back.

Yea, so he like chillin up there... that's all i wanted to show you.

As... (A Progression of Time)

So... as the world continues to rotate on it's one and only axis, the school year comes to a close.

As I sit and contemplate and listen to this Czech song called Metamorphosis, the whole concept of some of the most ordinary things in life become bleak and seem to fade into nothingness.

As I prepare for my good friend Stephen's birthday party tonight, I ponder the fact that my life is everchanging and this could be one of the last good meetings of an old crew.

As I look to the future, I find comfort and fear.

As Benji stares persistently out of the window, the world seems to stop for him, and there is nothing so important as what's in his line of sight.

As you continue to read this, you'll probably wonder what the heck he's tryin to say.

As I wonder what the heck I'm tryin to say, I realize I've been thinking how to finish this sentence for 2 hours now.

As this last 2 hours have passed, I have been sleeping a bit, and in the meantime Benji is snoring.

As the winds of the nearby forest are thrown into oblivion, the fury of the forest people is maintaining its vigor for freedom.

You know... sometimes you go through your day and then you stop all of a sudden and realize... "Hey, today is the best day of my life!!!!!" You know.... and then you keep on going about your business... Well... I don't really know this feeling. It actually seems quite odd to me to come to this realization and then continue about your mundane business. But... I've got to say that things are going fairly well. Some times you've just gotta rock it with the groundskeeper. Live It Large.

We're Jammin... I Wanna Jam It With You...

So... if you can summon up these words bellowing out of the late great Mr. Marley, then check it out, cuz really can you think of a better tune to go with an 8 day travel around a scene such as this pictured above? I test thee to find a fair enough rival. It ain't gonna happen.

So anyways, yes, maybe 90% it's been decided that in the early part of July, for about 7-9 days I'll be travelling over, across, through, under, over, around, perpendicular to, and maybe sideways in the great mountainous/plainy/beachy area of Northern Italy. It'll surely be one exciting trip. Seeing the beautiful mountains and amazing lakes and the small historic towns on these lakes and throughout Northern Italy will be a sight to behold in the midst of this "Decade of Devastation" (not really). Anyways, I'm pretty pumped up about it and can't wait til it happens. If you know anything about this area or cheap ways of getting around, hit me up. If not, no worries, I'll find something awesome in the meantime.

We're Jammin, We're Jammin, We're Jammin, We're Jammin, We're Jammin, We're Jammin, We're Jammin, We're Jammin... I wanna Jam it with you....

Early Morning Ponderings

As time goes on and the days get longer, I finid myself waking up earlier and earlier. Today... I was sleeping and i was quite aware of the depth of my sleep. It was a really strong sleep i think, and I woke up and just automatically thought "OH NO!! I've slept in! " Cuz it was light outside and blah blah, and so i quickly looked at my watch to see that thankfully it was only 5AM. :) So... what would i do next? Well... I tried to sleep a bit more, but thanks to the lack of motivation and eager willingness from my dog to help me satisfy his early morning desire to go outside and run around, i got up fairly soon after that. There seems to be an early morning routine nowadays as I start to think about it actually. I get up butt-early, I walk benji, and then I just sit there tryin to think of what I'm going to teach about for the day. I do this for about 2 hours, and then realize that I haven't figured anything out. I've just been in a 2 hour long daze and I seem to be quite oblivious to everything around me at this time. But... thankfully I only have to strive forth only a few more weeks and then freedom will be my bliss.

Things pondering about when in a complete daze:

- What is the new news for today on CNN
- What do I think about the new news for today on CNN
- How am I gonna fit everything I wanna do in America into 4 weeks
- What the heck am I gonna do in the 3 weeks I'll be free here in Kralupy
- Who in the world is gonna wanna take care of my dog for me for a month while I'm in America
- Maybe I'll take some holiday before I go to America
- Where will I go
- What will I do there
- Who will I go with
- How will I get there
- Why do I have so many thoughts to ponder
- Should I ponder more, or try and get some work done
- How many more days until I finish for holiday

So... these are only a few of a slew of things that are running through my head from the hours of 530AM-730AM and then I start working for my 8 o clock class. Ok... Well... I actually need to get ready for class now, so I guess this was more of a pondering put down on paper for me to think about :) Hope things are well... See ya'll soon. peace.

A Little Wedding in the Time Being

So... as many of you probably know. I was in America for a week a few weeks back. It was a rather good week, but busier than a DHS worker at a pigfarm. Runnin around everywhere seein people here and there and everywhere. I was drivin, flyin, walking... you name it, i took it in route to and throughout my journey in America. The wedding was quite nice. It was a big party and lots of fun was had by all. All said and done, I'm quite happy that I was able to make it back for this great celebration. It was really great to see all my family, especially my little nephew who has recently started talking and at the wedding he wore a cute little tuxedo (check out the pic of it). So... there's really not much to say about the wedding. It went well. It was quite big, and we all had fun. Normal procedure as in most weddings. Enjoy some of the few pics I got.

The Progression of My Hair Over The Course of a Year...

Hm... Let's see how hair grows and doesn't grow over 12 months

In the beginning, my hair grew... and also did my beard... then one day, my beard went away... but strangely enough, the hear kept truckin on...

But.. as history would have it... every great reign has a slight collapse of power... and this hit hard right around Christmas time as you can see here... But, although the damage to the mighty Hair Regime was severe, the attempted coup wasn't successful, and the Regime held on... but barely.

But... as all good dynasties must come to an end, so did this one. On June 1st, 2007, the counterrevolutionaries struck again... hard and quick, and dealt the finishing blow to the once mighty Hair Regime... although may the wondrous accomplishments of the predecessors live on in the hearts of us all and may we not forget those who came before us

Yea... I know... I look different...
