Horrible Confusion
So... today I learned something quite interesting. Would you ever believe that there is any similarity among the words raw, sulphuric, and cheesy? Well... believe it or not, there is! The similarity comes in Czech. The words sulphuric and cheesy (as being from cheese) have exactly the same pronunciation (and only the difference of one letter, of which both make the same sound), and raw, being almost exactly the same with the exception of a less of a stress (of a millisecond) on one letter. But it's true that there's craziness in every language. Believe it...

And you are true about craziness in every language. We czech have quite similiar problem with english.
Compared with czech, english language is a lot simpler, witch ironicaly makes problem to translate right to someone. For example word "run". On slovnik.cz I wrote "run" and translated. There were about 120 different czech meanings(and some of them were really strange) so in every case, run means something else, when you have different kontext.
Or french. There are words, that in all tenses are written differently, but pronounced identicaly. Such waste of brain capacity. :(

hm... quite true mirek. i don't know if i would trust those computerized dictionaries. they maybe have one or two good definitions for each word, but the others are complete nonsense. i'm sure i could write in the same thing for a czech word and there would be also 100 different definitions, half of them, you would probably say weren't correct :D later
Well, it isn`t obviously the best example. I tried to do the same thing from CZ to EN and I got to similiar result (but most words were only same meaning).
But still, I think, that English is easy enough. Just imagine, that you should learn Japanese (or French)
